Collective Commitments—An Ongoing Process
We revisit our collective commitments each year and vote on them as a staff, thereby renewing them.

Each year we revisit our collective commitments at our first staff meeting. Any revisions are identified and voted upon by the entire staff.

We began the process of creating our collective commitments by having various groups write down the things they believed were the most important things for teachers and staff members to be held accountable. Then we voted using sticker dots and picked the top in each category. Our final list has remained almost the same since we created our first collective commitments.

Our collective commitments were revised in 2019 due to having so many when we first began our PLC journey. At PD days and faculty meetings we broke into groups to talk about what was important for teachers and staff to be held accountable for. We did carousel activities and a lot of dialogue and discussion determining what was important to us. We plan to revisit the collective commitments at the end and beginning of each year to make sure we don’t have any desired revisions.
